UCPN (Maoist) Chair Puspa Kamal Dahal on Saturday held separate
meetings with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Nepali Congress President
Sushil Koirala to discuss the possible ways for resolving the India’s
unofficial blockade on the country and ongoing Tarai unrest.
During the meetings, Chairman Dahal stressed the need to taking
effective measures to address the Madhes problems before the
Legislature-Parliament meeting summoned for December 1 and come up with a
collective political views regarding the border blockade, according to
Dahal’s aide and party central member Chudamani Khadka.

Baluwatar this evening to call on Prime Minister Oli. On the occasion,
the Prime Minister was urged to summon a tri-party meeting of the ruling
parties, major opposition and the agitating Madhes-centric parties to
seek a solution to the existing problems. There should be no delay in
searching for a solution to the problems keeping the interest of the
nation in the center.
In response, Prime Minister Oli said he would call the tri-party
meeting as suggested by Dahal at the earliest and was effortful to
resolving the problems as soon as possible.
It may be noted that Dahal is a coordinator of High Level Political
Mechanism formed with a view to making efforts to find a way out to the
contemporary political problems including the Madhes issues.
Earlier this evening Dahal held a meeting with Nepali Congress (NC)
President Sushil Koirala at the latter’s residence in Maharajgunj where
he had urged for the NC’s cooperation for the implementation of the
newly promulgated constitution, shared Dahal’s personal aide Khadka.
According to him, Dahal told NC President Koirala that the national
charter was promulgated on the consensus of the three major political
parties and there was no alternative to these parties for its
implementation.
It is learnt that the two reached an agreement to seek a solution to Madhesh agitation in package.
Similarly, leader Koirala called for leader Dahal’s cooperation for
the endorsement of the proposal of inclusiveness and proportional system
tabled by the Koirala-led government in the parliament, stating that it
would address many demands of the disgruntled Maheshi leaders.
