Various organizations on Saturday took out harmony rally and demonstrated against the ongoing India’s blockade at the border.The Biplab-led CPN Maoist also staged a demonstration and a rally, reasoning Indian government’s intervention in Nepal’s domestic affairs.
They took out a rally from Chaubiskothi of Chitwan district to Narayangadh and demanded an end to the blockade. The party’s district leader Kiran Pokhrel also warned of stringent agitation if the blockade was not lifted.
The rally later converged into a corner meeting at Pulchowk, where the CPN Maoist leaders announced their plan not to allow Indian vehicles to ply the roads in Nepal and shutting down Indian television channels.
Likewise, doctors and health workers demonstrated in Bharatpur against the blockade while urging the Nepal Government and agitating parties to resolve the standoff. The rally participated by civil society displayed placards calling for good will.
